Twenty-five years of building things that work — for businesses that need them to.
When we started looking for a name in 2000, we threw everything on the table. Some were weird ("Purple Pygmy" made the shortlist). We wanted something short — easy to say over the phone — and something that stood out. We landed on what we actually do:
Front Runners, Ecommerce, Online, Marketing.
That was Freom. Still is.
We started on the Gold Coast building websites. Good ones. But over two decades, our clients' needs grew, and we grew with them. A website became a web application. An email campaign became a marketing platform. A shared hosting account became a managed server fleet.
Today, our core work is custom software — platforms that handle real business operations at scale. Quoting engines, logistics tools, payment systems, carrier integrations, and the data pipelines that connect them all together.
We're small on purpose. When you work with Freom, you work directly with the people who build your systems. No account managers, no ticket queues, no game of telephone between you and the person writing the code.
We're now based in Tasmania — a deliberate move that reflects how we work. Remote, focused, and connected to our clients through technology, not geography. Our response time hasn't changed. Our concentration has improved.
We use AI tools as part of our daily workflow — not as a gimmick, but as a genuine force multiplier. Code review, security monitoring, data analysis, and infrastructure management all benefit from AI augmentation. It means faster delivery, fewer errors, and 24/7 awareness of your systems.
The decisions are still human. The judgement is still ours. The AI makes us faster and more thorough — it doesn't replace the experience that comes from twenty-five years of solving real problems.
